District heating – local and carefree warmth
District heating is an easy and reliable way to keep homes, apartment buildings and businesses comfortably warm throughout the year. Heat is delivered directly to your property through a secure underground network, eliminating the need for on-site fuel storage, boilers or day-to-day maintenance.
As one of the most popular heating solutions in Finland, district heating offers dependable comfort, excellent security of supply and a simple, worry-free customer experience. At the same time, we are continuously increasing the share of renewable and non-combustion heat sources to make district heating an even more sustainable choice for the future.
New investments significantly reduce district heating emissions in Jyväskylä
Alva has introduced two major non-combustion energy production solutions in Jyväskylä: a new heat pump plant built alongside the Nenäinniemi wastewater treatment facility and a large-scale thermal energy storage unit located at the Rauhalahti power plant site. These systems are now integrated into the district heating network, significantly reducing emissions from heat production.
