Moving to a new home, how to get electricity?

An active electricity contract is required for electricity to be connected at your premises. Electricity distribution cannot begin unless a contract has been concluded.

If you are moving to a new home, please contact your chosen electricity supplier well before your moving date. If the electricity contract is made in advance, the electricity connection will be provided free of charge when the contract starts.

Once you have signed a contract with an electricity supplier, information about your move will be forwarded to Alva electricity network through the supplier, and you do not need to notify Alva separately. In addition to the contract start date, we will receive your customer and contact details from the supplier.

When we receive information about your upcoming contract from your electricity supplier, our system will send you a text message regarding the connection if electricity is not already on at your premises when your contract begins. Electricity will be connected once you reply to the message according to the instructions provided.

You can compare electricity suppliers and find help choosing one through the sahkonhinta.fi service.

If you forgot to arrange an electricity contract and there is no electricity at your premises, first contact your chosen electricity supplier and conclude an electricity contract. If electricity must be connected on the same day and the contract is set to start immediately, the connection will be carried out as an express connection service. Express connections are subject to a fee. If the connection can wait until the following day, set the contract to start on the next day and no connection fee will be charged.
